If you have family or friends here on F-2 and J-2 visas looking to improve their English skills and immerse themselves in American culture, look no further than the University of Florida’s English Language Institute (ELI).
This summer, ELI is offering part-time courses for F-2 and J-2 visa holders in two exciting terms: Summer C (May 13 – August 8) and Summer B (June 25 – August 8). Our courses are designed to help you practice English in a supportive and engaging classroom environment. As a part-time student, you can take up to 15 hours of classes per week, making it easy to balance with your other responsibilities.
But that’s not all! Our Cultural Immersion Program (CIP) offers a unique opportunity to practice your English skills in real-life situations, immerse yourself in American culture, and make new friends. Our Language Assistants, who are UF undergrads and familiar with the campus, will guide you through the program and help you navigate the local culture.
To join us, participants will need a high school diploma and a valid F-2 or J-2 visa. Our classes are non-credit, but you’ll still receive a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Whether you’re a spouse, partner, or friend, ELI welcomes all students who want to improve their English skills.
