New Prerequisite Designed To Help You Make The Most Of Your Resume Review Appointments

Make the Most of Your #6 Application Materials Resume Review Appointment

At the Career Connections Center, we’re always looking for ways to make your experience smoother, more meaningful, and more impactful. That’s why we’re excited to share a small change that will lead to big benefits when it comes to getting feedback on your resume.

Starting July 1st, 2025, all students who schedule a #6 Application Materials Review Career Planning Appointment with the intent to have their resume reviewed will be asked to complete one simple prerequisite step before their meeting. You can choose one of the following:

Attend Drop-In Career Planning (in-person or virtual)

-Or-

Upload your resume to Quinncia for instant, on-demand feedback

That’s it! You only need to complete one of these two easy steps to be ready for your appointment.

Why this change is all about YOU

We know that your time is valuable. When you come in for a resume appointment, you deserve focused, personalized help that goes beyond fixing basic formatting or grammar. By completing one of these prerequisite options, you’ll take care of the foundational edits ahead of time. This frees up your one-on-one appointment to dive deeper into the things that truly make your resume shine, like tailoring it to a specific job or internship, improving bullet points, and elevating your storytelling.

In short, we want your time with a career coach to feel like a game-changer, not a grammar check.

What if I have already uploaded my resume to Quinncia?

Congrats! You don’t have to take any further action when requesting a #6 Application Materials Review appointment to get your resume reviewed.

You’re never on your own

This update is all about helping you feel more confident and empowered when you step into a career conversation. And remember, no student will ever be turned away. If you’re having trouble completing one of the prerequisite steps or need a little flexibility, just reach out. Our team is here to support you.

We can’t wait to see how this small shift makes a big difference in your experience!

FAQ’s

Our goal is to help you make the most of your time with a career coach. Before your resume review appointment, we ask that you either attend Drop-In Career Planning (in person or virtually) or upload your resume to Quinncia. These options allow you to get quick, accessible feedback on the basics of your resume. That way, your appointment can focus on deeper topics like tailoring your resume to specific jobs and strengthening your bullet points. This process leads to more personalized support and stronger resumes.

This process is designed to give you faster access to support and more meaningful time with a career coach. By handling the basics ahead of time, your appointment can focus on improving content, strategy, and customization. You are taking an active role in your career development, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

If you schedule a resume review without completing one of the prerequisites, the career coach you selected will email you with a reminder and a deadline to complete one of the two options. Once you do that, your appointment will be confirmed. If the step is not completed by the deadline, the appointment may be declined until you are able to complete one of the prerequisites. If you are experiencing any barriers, contact your coach. You will not be turned away from getting support. We are happy to work with you.

No. The new prerequisite only applies to appointments that are focused on resumes. If your #6 appointment is for a CV, cover letter, or another topic, you do not need to attend Drop-In Career Planning or upload your resume to Quinncia beforehand.

No. Once you have completed the prerequisite you are good to go for all future resume appointments!

You can choose whichever option works best for you.

Drop-In Career Planning is a good choice if you prefer speaking directly with someone, either in person or virtually. Learn more about it here.

Quinncia is a great option if you want fast feedback and prefer to work on your resume independently. Learn more about Quinncia here.

You only need to complete one of the two prerequisites to be ready for your appointment.

If you completed one of the prerequisites, just email your career coach and let them know which prerequisite you completed. We can ensure you are able to attend your scheduled appointment.
