Meet David — a recent UF graduate with a degree in advertising and a minor in business, who’s navigating the ups and downs of the job search with grit and grace. Despite academic hurdles and limited internship experience, David is determined to break into the sales world, especially in wealth management and financial services.
What stands out most about David isn’t just his ambition, it’s his resilience. He’s open about rejection, realistic about the competitive nature of the field, and still shows up with curiosity and drive. He’s been turned down, redirected, and challenged, yet he keeps applying, networking, and refining his approach.
In our recent career coaching session, we explored internship opportunities with Enterprise Rental and Fisher Investments Tampa, reviewed labor market data, and mapped out next steps — from résumé updates to alumni outreach via Gator Network. David’s willingness to pivot, learn, and keep searching is exactly what makes him a standout candidate.
David’s LinkedIn highlights that he is both coachable and driven, qualities that speak volumes about his character. Not everyone is willing to acknowledge that they’re coachable, and it’s a trait that will take him far.
He’s not just looking for a job, he’s building a career, one opportunity at a time. And I’m honored to support him on this journey.
If you’re reading this and know of opportunities that align with his goals, please consider reaching out to him. Our young people deserve support, guidance, and community as they navigate their paths, and together we can help them thrive.
