The University of Florida is launching the Gator Experience Record (GER), a new way to recognize and showcase what you’re learning and doing at UF, both inside and outside the classroom. The University of Florida is the first university to recognize student learning at this scale, setting a new standard for how student experiences are documented and shared.
In the coming days, students who have engaged in qualifying learning and experiences will receive an email from Parchment to access your personal GER. Parchment is a secure digital credential platform used by colleges and universities nationwide. Be on the lookout for a message from congratulations@mail.parchment.com with a unique link to view your record.
What is the GER? It’s an official, verified record that highlights your high‑impact learning experiences at UF, beginning with select curricular and co‑curricular opportunities from Summer 2025 and Fall 2025. The GER is designed to complement your transcript and résumé by giving employers and graduate programs a fuller picture of your skills, involvement, and learning.
Julia Vollrath, Director for Career Data, Technology, and Engagement shared, “This is one of the most exciting shifts in how we recognize the student experience at UF! It brings together everything you’re doing at UF, inside and outside the classroom, and turns it into a powerful, validated record you can use to share that story with confidence.”
The GER also aligns with what employers are looking for. According to Angel Iverson, Director for Industry Relations and Workforce Pathways, “National research and our employer feedback has affirmed that skills‑based hiring is now paramount in the recruitment process. I’m excited that the Gator Experience Record can now help students align and translate their experiences even more to employers during the hiring selection and interview process.”
You can download and share your GER electronically, making it an easy, powerful tool as you apply for jobs, internships, leadership roles, or further education. To keep access even after graduation, you’re encouraged to create your Parchment account using a secondary email.
This is just the beginning. While your GER may not include every experience yet, additional learning opportunities and records will be added over time.
