The Accelerated Student Nurse Extern (ASNE) Program gives senior nursing students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while balancing their school schedule.
Explore specialty nursing, medical/surgical or procedural areas while working on-on-one with a trained RN preceptor.
Program begins February 8, 2027. Applications accepted through November 1, 2026.
To be considered, students must meet the following qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited nursing program with an expected graduation date by August 2027
- By program start date, must be in your senior year of a nursing program
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred
- Provide proof of current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/BLS certificaion
The ASNE Program is a paid externship in a pool position. Senior students will work on (1) 12-hour shift per week with a designated RN preceptor. The program is available at the following hospitals:
