Chief People Organization Program overview 

Our Chief People Organization (CPO) is a global team of over 5,000 professionals across 26 countries. It operates as a strategic partner to every area of the business, driving our efforts to make Bank of America a Great Place to Work and advancing the company’s reputation around the globe.

The Chief People Organization provides a broad range of opportunities to support our teammates as they advance their professional goals, while maintaining a culture of caring and inclusion for them and their families. As a Summer Analyst, you will be offered a curriculum that builds a strong platform to launch your career.

Intern Program overview

The Chief People Organization Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week summer internship that will introduce you to Bank of America, the Chief People Organization, and its related functions. The bank will provide an opportunity to build upon your existing academic foundation — specifically technical skills, industry knowledge and familiarity with a corporate environment. We will also foster an environment where you can pursue a career that aligns with your interests and background.

Training and development are top priority for all summer interns. Extensive formal training will be offered at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout. These opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • Company guided trainings focused on the mechanics of the bank, data literacy, executive ready presentations and more.
  • Summer Intern mentorship program
  • Enterprise executive speaker series
  • 11 opportunity & inclusion employee networks – LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development) for Women, Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership & Advancement (HOLA), Black Professional Group (BPG), LGBTQ+ Pride, Military Support & Assistance Group (MSAG), among others
  • Frequent educational events with internal or external speakers
  • Networking events
  • Community service opportunities

A Day in the life

CPO internships last 10 weeks and aligns our human capital strategy to the business strategy, enabling the bank to connect with customers and clients by attracting, developing, and retaining a world-class workforce to drive growth at Bank of America. As a Summer Analyst, you will be placed on one team where your primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting line of business initiatives that make the bank a great place for people to work by creating an environment where all employees can achieve their goals.
  • Connecting with senior leaders to better understand how CPO drives critical business decisions and serves as a strategic partner throughout the bank.
  • Directly contributing to business advisory, operations, HR processes, and special projects
  • Supporting key programs designed to tell our brand’s story and demonstrate the value of the franchise.
  • Measuring performance and completing business reviews and analyses.
  • Identifying and executing on opportunities for business process design and risk mitigation.
  • Writing and reviewing messaging, assisting with internal and corporate communications, media, and communication strategies.
  • Supporting business needs related to reporting and analysis, special projects, and other key priorities.

Please note: Our goal is to provide important, relevant, and varied assignments based on real-time business needs while also considering participant skillsets; therefore, specific functional assignments are not guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors or Bachelors direct to Masters degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between November 2026 and August 2027
  • Preferred areas of study include but are not limited to: Business Administration, Industrial or Organization Psychology, Human Resources Management, Industrial and Labor Relations, Organization development, Communications, Economics, Environmental Studies, Event Management, International Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, or other related degrees.
  • 2 minimum GPA is preferred.
  • Exhibit strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office as well as proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem solving and analytical skills, verbal, and written communication, as well as professionalism.
  • Possess an elevated level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for operational excellence and a commitment to achieving sustainable results.
  • Bank of America is unable to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship now, or in the future, for this specific role.
