College Internship Program Information:
At NVEEE, part-time (approx. 25-34 hrs/week) and full-time (approx. 35-40 hrs/week) internships are available year-round and can be entirely virtual or hybrid. Students may choose to receive volunteer or academic course credits for the internship. Students seeking the option to receive course credit should inquire with their academic advisor. We will work with the student and college advisor to achieve desired learning outcomes and complete all necessary paperwork. Additionally, please note that this is an unpaid opportunity.
Community Outreach and Engagement Department Descriptions:
This role involves actively identifying, planning, and participating in initiatives to establish robust partnerships with community-based and national nonprofit organizations. The objective is to foster collaboration, strengthen community ties, and raise awareness of NVEEE’s mission, programs, and impact.
Below are the committees within the Community Outreach and Engagement Department:
- Volunteer and Intern Recruitment and Retention -This position focuses on strategically recruiting and retaining volunteers and interns. Responsibilities include developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies, engaging with potential candidates, and creating a supportive environment to enhance volunteer and intern retention rates.
- Mental Health and Wellness [FULL]-This role is dedicated to promoting mental health and wellness within the community. Responsibilities include developing and implementing initiatives, events, and resources that contribute to mental health awareness and well-being. The aim is to create a supportive environment that prioritizes mental health.
- Strategic Partnerships – In this capacity, the focus is on cultivating and managing strategic partnerships that align with NVEEE’s goals. This includes identifying potential partners, establishing mutually beneficial relationships, and collaborating on initiatives that amplify the impact of NVEEE’s programs.
- Secondary and Collegiate Partnerships – This role involves establishing partnerships with secondary schools and collegiate institutions. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities for collaboration, developing programs that cater to the unique needs of secondary and collegiate audiences, and fostering relationships to enhance educational initiatives.
- General Outreach – This position encompasses a broad spectrum of outreach activities aimed at engaging diverse audiences. Responsibilities include implementing general outreach strategies, leveraging various communication channels, and creating awareness campaigns to reach a wide audience and promote NVEEE’s mission and programs
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Represent NVEEE: Act as an ambassador at community events, educational workshops, galas, and other engagements to share NVEEE’s mission and work.
- Build Partnerships: Collaborate with local and national organizations, businesses, and elected officials to develop strategic relationships.
- Plan Outreach: Create and maintain a comprehensive outreach calendar in collaboration with NVEEE committees and community partners.
- Support Program Success: Work with the Programs Committee to secure inspiring guest speakers for NVEEE events, such as PALS and PALP.
- Strengthen Community Ties: Attend networking events (virtual or in-person) to expand NVEEE’s connections and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Create and Maintain Databases: Update and manage databases of partners, speakers, and event participants to ensure seamless communication and follow-up.
- Event Coordination: Partner with the Creative Services Committee to produce marketing materials and ensure video and photo content is captured for sponsor recognition.
- Track Impact: Monitor and report NVEEE’s outreach outcomes, including people served and key accomplishments.
- Develop Outreach Plans: Assist in crafting engagement strategies for potential partners, organizations, and youth ambassadors.
