College Internship Program Information:

At NVEEE, part-time (approx. 25-34 hrs/week) and full-time (approx. 35-40 hrs/week) internships are available year-round and can be entirely virtual or hybrid. Students may choose to receive volunteer or academic course credits for the internship. Students seeking the option to receive course credit should inquire with their academic advisor. We will work with the student and college advisor to achieve desired learning outcomes and complete all necessary paperwork. Additionally, please note that this is an unpaid opportunity. 
 

Fundraising and Sponsorship Department Description: 

NVEEE’s Fundraising, Sponsorship, and Grant Development Committee supports the Executive Director in implementing the organization’s fundraising strategy. Through its subcommittees—Grant Research and Proposals, Donor Relations, Sponsorship Outreach, and Fundraising Events—this committee assists in researching funding opportunities, strategizing approaches, building relationships, and raising funds to meet NVEEE’s ongoing initiatives and special projects.

Below are the committees within the Fundraising and Sponsorship department:

  • Grant Research and Proposals- This position is dedicated to researching potential grants and preparing proposals for submission. Responsibilities include identifying suitable funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and ensuring alignment with NVEEE’s mission and goals.
  • General Research– This role involves conducting research that contributes to a deeper understanding of NVEEE’s mission and the broader landscape of relevant issues. Responsibilities include staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and other factors that impact the organization’s mission.
  • Sponsor and Donor Development and Management- In this capacity, the focus is on developing and managing relationships with sponsors and donors. Responsibilities include cultivating new relationships, maintaining existing ones, and ensuring effective communication to foster long-term partnerships.
  • General Fundraising– This position encompasses a broad range of fundraising activities, including events, email marketing, phone solicitation, direct mail, peer-to-peer campaigns, and social media initiatives. Responsibilities include coordinating and executing diverse fundraising strategies to engage and inspire support from various audiences.
  • Sponsorships– This role is dedicated to securing sponsorships in various forms, including Corporate Social Responsibility campaigns, program sponsorships, in-kind gifts, and pro-bono support. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to attract diverse sponsorship opportunities aligned with NVEEE’s mission and values.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Fundraising Strategy Execution:

  • Assist in implementing NVEEE’s comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve financial goals and support ongoing programs.
  • Collaborate on setting fundraising goals for special events and campaigns.

Donor and Sponsor Research:

  • Identify and research potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
  • Maintain and update a detailed database of funding prospects for follow-ups.

Sponsor and Donor Engagement:

  • Draft compelling donation request letters and sponsorship proposals.
  • Participate in calls and video meetings with potential sponsors to secure funding and build relationships.
  • Ensure all donors receive timely thank-you notes and acknowledgments.

Event and Campaign Support:

  • Develop innovative strategies to increase contributions for events or campaigns.
  • Reach out to local restaurants or vendors for meal sponsorships and event support.

Progress Tracking and Reporting:

  • Write detailed reports or prepare presentations to communicate fundraising progress to stakeholders.
  • Analyze the success of past efforts to inform future fundraising initiatives.
