Information:

At NVEEE, part-time (approx. 25-34 hrs/week) and full-time (approx. 35-40 hrs/week) internships are available year-round and can be entirely virtual or hybrid. Students may choose to receive volunteer or academic course credits for the internship. Students seeking the option to receive course credit should inquire with their academic advisor. We will work with the student and college advisor to achieve desired learning outcomes and complete all necessary paperwork. Additionally, please note that this is an unpaid opportunity. 

Marketing and Communications Department Description:

This role actively contributes to implementing NVEEE’s marketing components within the strategic plan. Responsibilities include expanding marketing efforts across various channels to amplify the organization’s reach and engage a broader audience. The focus is on aligning marketing strategies with the overall organizational goals.

Below are the committees a part of the Marketing and Communications department:

  • Marketing and Public Relations- This position involves managing marketing and public relations. Responsibilities include crafting and delivering messages to the public, building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, and strategically promoting NVEEE’s initiatives to enhance its public image.
  • Social Media Content Creation– This role is dedicated to creating engaging and impactful content for NVEEE’s social media platforms. Responsibilities include developing and executing social media strategies, creating visually appealing and informative content, and fostering a vibrant online community.
  • Creative Services (Graphic Design, Video Editing, etc.)- In this capacity, the focus is on providing creative services such as graphic design and video editing to support marketing efforts. Responsibilities include creating visually compelling materials that effectively communicate NVEEE’s mission, values, and programs.
  • Content Writing and Copy Editing– This position involves crafting compelling and accurate written content for various communication channels. Responsibilities include content creation, copy editing, and ensuring that written materials align with NVEEE’s brand voice and messaging.
  • Website Development/Maintenance (WordPress)- This role focuses on developing and maintaining NVEEE’s website, particularly on the WordPress platform. Responsibilities include ensuring the website is up-to-date, user-friendly and aligns with the organization’s branding and communication goals.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing a Strategy Plan: Collaborate with the team to design and implement a marketing strategy aligned with NVEEE’s goals.
  • Researching Best Practices: Study successful non-profit marketing strategies and share innovative ideas with the team.
  • Creating Social Media Content: Design visually engaging and informative content to promote NVEEE’s programs and values.
  • Supporting Posting Schedules: Assist in creating and maintaining a consistent social media posting schedule.
  • Building a Promotion Database: Develop a comprehensive resource of websites and services to promote NVEEE’s programs and events.
  • Analyzing Engagement Metrics: Evaluate social media performance and recommend improvements based on audience engagement data.
  • Collaborating Across Subcommittees: Work with Creative Services, Content Writing, and Website Development subcommittees to ensure a cohesive digital presence that supports NVEEE’s mission.
