Commercial Associate Intern – Summer 2027

Program Dates: June 1st – August 6th, 2027
Boston, MA

The base pay for this position is $25 per hour.

This is a Boston based opportunity with a 4 day in office expectation (Monday – Thursday) with 1 day remote (Friday).

At this time, Wayfair will not sponsor applicants for employment authorization for this position for the following work visas: STEM OPT EAD, H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, O-1, J-1, or TN.

Who We Are:

Wayfair was selected as a top 100 Internship program for 2026 by Yello & WayUp!  This list showcases the employers who went above and beyond for their interns in the past year. We take pride in delivering a best in-class experience!

Our 10-week summer internship program is designed to give you a feel for what it would be like to work at Wayfair as a full-time employee. You’ll be assigned real projects and contribute directly to your team’s goals and objectives.

As a Commercial Associate Intern, you will work on business-critical projects that influence how Wayfair selects, prices, presents, and supports products for millions of customers. You will partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams, analyze business and customer data, and develop recommendations that improve both the supplier and customer experience.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of real work—not simply observe. Your projects may result in a new analytical tool, an improved process, a supplier recommendation, a pricing or promotional strategy, or changes to the products customers see on our site. If you are excited by the opportunity to use data, technology, and creative problem-solving to improve how people shop for their homes, we encourage you to apply!

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyze business, customer, supplier, and product data to identify opportunities and translate findings into clear recommendations.

  • Own projects from initial problem definition through implementation, tracking progress and measuring results.

  • Collaborate with teams across Merchandising, Operations, Finance, Technology, and Supplier Management.

  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to internal leaders, suppliers, and cross-functional partners.

  • Support initiatives related to product assortment, pricing, promotions, product visibility, supplier performance, and process improvement.

  • Gather and synthesize customer and supplier feedback to identify recurring issues and improve the end-to-end experience.

  • Use approved AI tools and emerging technologies to improve analysis, automate repetitive work, and increase team efficiency.

  • Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree with the expectation that degree will be obtained between December 2027 and Summer 2028.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets; advanced technical expertise is not required.

  • Must be returning to the course of study following completion of the internship.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by Wayfair now or in the future. Visa sponsorship includes the following work visas: STEM OPT EAD, H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, O-1, J-1, or TN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to break down complex problems and determine what information is needed to solve them.

  • Comfort working with data and drawing conclusions from quantitative information.

  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • A track record of taking initiative and driving work forward with limited direction.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively while also operating independently.

  • Curiosity about customers, suppliers, technology, and how businesses grow.

  • A willingness to learn new tools and use AI thoughtfully in day-to-day work.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change.

Possible Team Placements:

Interns may be placed on one of the following teams based on business needs and candidate interests:

Category Management

Develop the strategic direction for Wayfair’s major product categories by partnering with suppliers and internal teams. Projects may focus on assortment, pricing, promotions, supplier performance, and customer experience.

Build scalable tools, reporting, and data-driven insights that help Wayfair’s Global Supplier Organization improve processes and support supplier growth.

Physical Retail

Help expand Wayfair’s platform and brand portfolio—including AllModern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane, and Perigold—into physical retail. Projects may involve customer experience, assortment, operating models, and integrated online-to-store experiences.

Global Partner Support

Improve the supplier experience through better processes, issue resolution, and self-service tools. The team partners with Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to reduce friction and enable supplier success.

Marketing

Marketing drives Wayfair’s profitable top-line revenue by mastering strategy, analytics, and operations across all major digital and offline advertising channels. This team utilizes big data to acquire and retain high-potential customers, collaborating across creative and technical functions to ensure every marketing investment maximizes business impact.
