PICSA aspires to cultivate the development of communicators interested in effecting positive social change with an emphasis on science-driven approaches. They educate and empower students in the growing discipline of Public Interest Communications, or communications for actionable, measurable change (such as change in behavior, policy, etc). Through building the resources and opportunities needed to work on behalf of the public, they hope to enhance connections and skills while providing opportunities for students in the public interest communications field.
