Portfolio Inventory Guide
This Portfolio Inventory Guide provides guidance on selecting pieces to create a portfolio for individuals in digital arts and related fields.
Ready to build your portfolio but unsure where to start? Begin by listing all the projects you want to showcase. For each one, make note of the media used, the brands involved, and the specific skills or roles you contributed.
Here’s what to do next:
- Clarify your individual contribution, especially if the project was a collaborative effort.
- Note if you have a documented process for any project.
- Decide how you want to showcase your work—through visuals, graphic design, videos, case studies, or other creative formats that highlight your strengths.
- Use the “Notes” section to add any nondisclosure agreements or relevant details.
Considerations for Selecting Projects:
- Include every project—don’t filter anything out yet! Wait until you’ve completed your project inventory so you can assess whether you’ve gathered enough information, such as a documented project process, to decide if a particular project should be featured.
