>> My name is Christina Bruno. I'm director of development strategy at Teach for American in Los Vegas Valley. And essentially what that means is I sort out the development or fundraising plans for the local operations of Teach for America. I work closely with our managing director and executive director in the region to figure out who the best partners are for us in the region, how we can go about developing a relationship with them, and how we are going to get to a certain amount of money that we need to raise for the year. So I sort out everything from the type of fundraising that we're going to engage in. So are we working with corporations, foundations, individuals. Are we running events. And then I can decide an individual strategy for each one of those areas. So I help to figure out how much money we actually might be able to raise in those areas and which individuals or companies or foundations we might approach, and figure out how much money we can actually ask them for. So that involves a lot of research into what their interests are, where else they might be giving. And so then sometimes I'm doing event strategy as well to create opportunities that we can use to engage those individuals or companies and actually like make an ask for a gift.
