>> My name is Justin Smith. I work for the Bureau of Lansdale in Pennsylvania; I'm a GIS analyst. I graduated from Rutgers in 2012. GIS is the Center for Geographic Information Systems; it's basically I don't want to say just digital mapping, but just basically kind of a map with other information tied to a certain map. So for example, you could have like a map of all-- back to my case like sewer manholes, and then on a map you visually, you would see a lot of dots, but really each little dot will have so much information tied to it. So it's kind of the relationship between kind of the data that would be in a map and the spatial location of things that are on a map. I am essentially the city cartographer, so I make all kinds of different maps for the municipality. We have a lot of municipal utilities like electric, which is kind of rare for a municipality to have. So I do the electric, storm water, waste water maps as well as like ward maps, a zoning map, any kind of property-related thing, and any kind of other requests that come to me.
