Sade is the Human Resources Administrator for Kahn Lucas Lancaster, Inc, a retail conglomerate specializing in young girl’s apparel and accessories. Sade is responsible for handling benefits, employee relations, on-boarding new hires, and, one of the most important facets, recruiting.

>> My name is Charday Fisher [assumed spelling]. I'm a human resources administrator. I work in human resources. I help the vice president of human resources with all of our day to day functions. There's just two of us in the department. So I handle a variety of things, from benefits to employee relations, on boarding, orientation, updating handbooks, our HRIS system, recruiting. A busy day looks like I would begin my day with sometimes benefits. That's usually the busiest time of the month is when I have to pay benefit bills. So I come in and I go to pay the bills, but before I can pay the bills I have to make sure that everything is in alignment and that all of the associates that we are billed for are still with the company or if we're not billed for someone who just started. So kind of just making sure that the bill is correct. Then sometimes there is employee relations problems or just when someone wants to come in and vent to you about something. So those are always the days that kind of catch you off guard. Recruiting is always something that we do. We have retail locations so we're constantly recruiting for those locations. Phone screens, phone interviews, reference checks, those type of things are a daily task. My favorite task, one, is -- It's kind of weird, but the benefit billing. I love numbers. So just making sure that those numbers balance and trying to figure out why they're not balancing is one of my favorite things. Another thing that I really like is that associates feel as though they can confide in me and talk to me about things that they can't go to their supervisor about. So that makes me feel good that they trust me.
