Blake is the mortician and general manager at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock, AR. He sat down with us and shared the lighter side of the funeral business.

>> Just speaking candidly, the challenges, I'll tell you first, I've been doing this now for 12 years. The first couple of years, people were a normal size. And one of the biggest challenges now is the size that people are getting. And we do have a lot of people right now who die who are extremely overweight. And handling them after they've passed away is quite cumbersome. The hours that we work are pretty extreme sometimes. It seems like just when you felt like you deserve to go to sleep, the phone rings again and you have to get back up and go at it again. You know, the holidays and the being away, you know, you can't reschedule a funeral service. Once the obituary runs in the paper and the crowds converge, you have to go on and do your job. The good parts about this business is it's [inaudible] you do come into somebody's life in a time that they need help. If you're decent, proficient, at what you do, you really have helped somebody. The overwhelming sense of accomplishment, when you have somebody leave here and say, at least say thank you, for something that they paid for, you know, they have paid for it, it is a business, but at the end of it, they still say thank you, you know, how many times have you bought a car and walked away and said, "Oh wow, thank you." You don't.
